Southford State Park

This weekend, we spent the day at Southford State Park.  Ric was looking for a Trout Park so the kids could fish, but we also wanted someplace we could do a light hike with the kids.  This state park fit the bill.  The trails were wide and flat, the waterfalls were reminiscent of those we find in Highlands, NC and fishing was pretty good.  I just LOVE the signage they have at this park... I think this brown and nustard combo could be interpreted nicely into a little boys room...

The kids loved doing all the activities and the weather this time of year couldn't have been better--cool, low humidity, and the leaves were just starting to show signs of changing.  I can imagine that this park will be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G in just a few weeks.  Here are some of the pics of our fun day.

  1. Does it have the same damp dirt road+ verdant mountain laurel + benign wood decay smell that NC has? Love that.

I'm working on a boy room and so far all i have is a found National Forest Boundary sign. Navy, chocolate, orange and mustard. Great minds...
